WILMINGTON, NC – A popular local music venue is attempting a comeback, according to a post on Instagram from its organizers.
The Place, which was an event venue hidden inside Bottles Wilmington on South 15th Street, hosted its final show on July 23rd, but organizers don’t want the music to stop. According to a recent article in the Wilmington StarNews, the venue served as an incubator for local music talent since opening in late 2022.
Wednesday, the Instagram page included a video post from organizers talking about the immediate need for funding in the amount of $6,000 to clear up some bills and protect the equipment on site. As for the future location or direction of The Place, organizers called for a community discussion to see what everyone wants.

The post quickly drew dozens of positive responses from supporters of live, local music and the efforts of those wanting to preserve the vibe of what The Place offered. Organizers said they want to hear from the community first before accepting any donations or launching any crowdsourcing campaigns.
