Cape Fear Ukulele Players Plan Tribute to Jimmy Buffett

Local ukulelists (yep, that’s a word) in the Cape Fear region plan to pay tribute to the legendary performer Jimmy Buffett, who recently passed away at the age of 76.

The Ukulele Strummers of the Cape Fear are inviting everyone to join them on Thursday, September 14th at the Northeast Regional Library, located at 1241 Military Cutoff Road, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm for a tribute strum-along of favorite Buffett tunes. If you join, you are asked to bring your ukulele and a music stand. Music that is not in the books that the group uses will be available on a Google file on their website — www.UkeStrumCF.org.

The Ukulele Academy, which posted about the event recently on social media, points out that shoes will be required at the library. Longtime parrotheads will note the laid back Buffett was often seen barefoot during concerts.
