From the announcement:
It is with an air of the utmost delight that we, The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College (CFCC), purveyors of the finest musical tidings, announce the resplendent return of the esteemed maestro, Elvis Costello, and his illustrious coterie, The Imposters. Event Details
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with Palehound perform at Wilson Center on February 19, 2024 at 7:30pm.
From the website:
A Jason Isbell record always lands like a decoder ring in the ears and hearts of his audience, a soundtrack to his world and magically to theirs, too. Weathervanes carries the same revelatory power. This is a storyteller at the peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers, looking inside and trying to understand, reducing a universe to four minutes. He shrinks life small enough to name the fear and then strip it away, helping his listeners make sense of how two plus two stops equaling four once you reach a certain age — and carry a certain amount of scars.
Weathervanes is a collection of grown-up songs: Songs about adult love, about change, about the danger of nostalgia and the interrogation of myths, about cruelty and regret and redemption. Life and death songs played for and by grown ass people. Some will make you cry alone in your car and others will make you sing along with thousands of strangers in a big summer pavilion, united in the great miracle of being alive. The record features the rolling thunder of Isbell’s fearsome 400 Unit, who’ve earned a place in the rock ‘n’ roll cosmos alongside the greatest backing ensembles, as powerful and essential to the storytelling as The E Street Band or the Wailers.

The Simon & Garfunkel Story will take place at Wilson Center on February 20th at 7:30pm. Tickets start at $32, plus fees.
From the website:
The internationally acclaimed hit theater show tells the story of Simon & Garfunkel, from their humble beginnings as Tom & Jerry to their incredible success as one of the best-selling music groups of the ’60s and their dramatic split in 1970. The Simon & Garfunkel Story culminates with the pair’s famous “The Concert in Central Park” reunion in 1981, with over half a million fans in attendance.
The show features a set list of nearly 30 songs and uses state-of-the-art video projection, photos, and original film footage. A full live band will perform all of the hits, including “Mrs. Robinson,” “Cecilia,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound,” and many more, complete with the unmistakably perfect harmonies that transport audiences down memory lane.
With over 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel’s unforgettable songs and poetic lyrics poignantly capture the era that made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos ever. Over the years, they won 10 Grammy® Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1977, the Brit Awards honored their “Bridge Over Troubled Water” album with Best International Album. In 2003, Simon & Garfunkel were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the following year, their “The Sound of Silence” was awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

Event Details
Keb’ Mo’ performs at Wilson Center on February 23rd from 7:30pm to around 9pm.
From the website:
Keb’ Mo’s new album “Good To Be” is inspired by his incredible journey. It artfully links the grit and groove of his Compton roots with the strum and twang of his adopted hometown of Nashville, TN, where he’s lived and worked for the last eleven years. Drawing on country, folk, blues, and soul, the collection transcends genre and geography, weaving together a joyful, heartwarming, and relentlessly optimistic tapestry that manages to encompass the entirety of this once-in-a-generation artist’s larger-than-life career.
Keb’ Mo’ was born and raised in Compton, CA. At 21 he landed his first major gig playing with Jefferson Airplane violinist Papa John Creach. For the next 20 years Keb’ Mo’ worked primarily behind the scenes, establishing himself as a respected guitarist, songwriter, and arranger with a unique gift for using his evocative musical talent to link the past and the present.
In 1994 he introduced the world to his capabilities as a solo artist with the release of his widely acclaimed self-titled debut. Critics were quick to take note of Keb’ Mo’s modern, genre-bending take on old school sounds. Two years later he garnered his first GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album with “Just Like You.” In the decades to come, Keb’ Mo’ took home four more GRAMMY Awards, topped the Billboard Blues Chart seven times, and performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to The White House. He has collaborated with many other influential artists including Taj Mahal, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, The Chicks, and Lyle Lovett. His compositions have been recorded and sampled by artists as diverse as B.B. King, Zac Brown, and BTS. In 2021 he was recognized with Americana Music Association’s award for Lifetime Achievement in Performance.

Event Details
Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy perform at the Wilson Center on March 22nd from 7:30pm to 9pm.
From the website:
Canada’s reigning couple of Celtic music, fiddlers Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, were both already stars in their own right when they married in 2002. However, their dazzling careers followed different trajectories before merging: MacMaster was a Cape Breton native who could step-dance before she could walk, and Leahy was the oldest brother of the acclaimed Leahy Family Musical Group.
Now, sometimes along with stage appearances from five of their 7 gifted children, MacMaster and Leahy bring their fiddling synergy to devoted audiences stretching from Sydney, Nova Scotia to Sydney Australia. They’ve collaborated with celebrated musicians ranging from YoYo Ma to Faith Hill, and are admired by talent that includes Shania Twain and the Chieftains.
Fiddling, step-dancing and positively delighting audiences: MacMaster and Leahy are on a tour of spirited performances showcasing traditional folk and Celtic ceilidh classics, and original hits.
