In conjunction with the 12th Annual Honor Band Festival, Dr. Dominic Talanca and the UNCW Symphonic Band will present its final concert of the semester, Perspectives. The program embraces the creative and engaging compositional voices of Nkeiru Okoye, Kevin McKee, and Erika Svanoe.

We will also welcome 2 guest artists to share their point of view with the ensemble and the audience – Carolina Perez will guest conduct the Symphonic Band in a commission consortium performance of Voices Shouting Out by Okoye, and we will feature faculty artist Dr. Christopher Luebke-Brown in a performance of McKee’s Centennial Horizon for trumpet and band. In another commission consortium performance, the Symphonic Band will close the concert with Erika Svanoe’s symphonic jazz suite: Symphony in Blue and Gold.

This concert is FREE to the public and we hope you can join us for this exciting close to the fall semester!

The Nutcracker, a mesmerizing part of the World Ballet Series, showcases a diverse cast of 50 professional ballet dancers who come together to breathe new life into this classic holiday tradition.

Experience the excitement of the World Ballet in this family-friendly performance, featuring Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable music, over 150 radiant hand-crafted costumes, lavish hand-painted sets, and the iconic Lev Ivanov choreography.

Join Clara and the Nutcracker on a thrilling Christmas night adventure to the Land of Sweets, where you’ll marvel at the famous Waltz of Flowers, the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and encounter intriguing characters like Mother Ginger and Drosselmeyer.
